Best Available Seat Booking
In best available seat booking, you choose a category of seats and select the number of tickets you would like. An automatic allocation of seats will take place within the selected category; you receive the best available seats.
Seating Chart Booking
In seating chart booking, you personally select your exact seats from agraphic seating chart. Begin the seating chart booking and choose an area. There you can select the seats by clicking on them.
General Seating
means that, with your ticket, you can freely select your seat according to the conditions on-site.

Information on Online Sales

Please examine our General Terms and Conditions and our information regarding privacy policy (in German) as well as the following information on ticket pre-sales.
Ticket Pre-sales
Ticket pre-sales for performances at all venues generally begin on the same date two months before the day of the performance. If the first pre-sale date falls on a Saturday or Sunday, then pre-sales will begin on that Friday. If it falls on a holiday, then sales will begin the day before. Binding orders with a SEPA Direct Debit mandate will start to be processed two weeks before ticket pre-sales begin. Some events cannot be purchased through online sales. For such cases, please contact our telephone ticket service ((+49) (0) 711. 20 20 90, Mon – Fri 10 am – 8 pm, Sat 10 am – 6 pm). Performances outside of the previously mentioned pre-sale periods can be ordered using the online ordering form. Please examine our general information on ticket pre-sales.
Seat Selection
In the course of your booking, information relating to seat selection will be displayed.
Ticket Prices
Ticket prices for online sales include a service fee of 1.00 € per ticket.
Discounts (other than the Schauspielcard)
Please use the alternative sales channels for discounts, as they are not available or applicable for online sales.
Gift Vouchers
Gift certificates can be transferred to third parties and are valid up to three years after the issue date. The period begins on December 31 of the year the certificate has been purchased. An extension of this period is excluded. The disbursement of the certificate value is not possible. The monetary value will be offset against the price (higher differences must be paid). Existing remaining amounts are disbursed as another gift certificate. A later setting-off of a certificate to a purchase already made is not possible. Gift certificates cannot be used for the purchase of further certificates.
Delivery / Pick Up with Confirmation of Purchase
Tickets or gift vouchers can be sent out for a shipping fee of 1.50 €, if the time of the order allows for it. The Staatstheater Stuttgart cannot accept any responsibility for the shipment.
Confirmation of purchase will automatically be sent by email to the address you provided, as soon as purchase of your order has been initiated.
By presenting printed confirmation of purchase, tickets can be picked up at the theatre box office or at the appropriate performance box office; gift vouchers only at the theatre box office (Mon – Fri 10 am – 7 pm, Sat 10 am – 2 pm).
Only printed tickets are valid as passes for means of transport with the VVS. Printed confirmations of purchase will not be accepted as valid ride passes for the VVS.
You can purchase any of our print@home ticket(s) (with the start of season 14/15) at any time and print them out yourself. This booking service is available to you until 1 hour before a performance starts at no additional cost and is specified during the booking via choice of shipping option. After completing the purchasing transaction, the desired ticket will be displayed as a PDF file and can be printed immediately. You will receive a confirmation of purchase at the email address you have provided, with the ticket file as an attachement. The personalization of each ticket with a name and date of birth prevents improper duplication for the protection of the purchaser. Each ticket entitles the holder to one unique admission in conjunction with a valid ID. If there are any questions, please contact our telephone sales office ((+49) (0) 711. 20 20 90). print@home ticket = transit ticket
Your print@home ticket is valid as a transit ticket for public transportation in the VVS system at no additional cost and will automatically beeig print with your print@home ticket. Please pay attention to the required personalisation during the booking transaction.
Late Seating
may not be possible for certain performances. Our telephone ticket service (0711. 20 20 90, Mon – Fri 10 am – 8 pm, Sat 10 am – 6 pm) will be happy to provide you with more information!
Tickets can be paid with credit card (American Express, MasterCard, VISA) or SEPA direct debit (Not for new customers, these should call our ticket-service first (+49) (0)711. 20 20 90).
Return / Exchange
We ask that you carefully check your information before authorising purchase of your order, as tickets and gift vouchers cannot be returned or exchanged.

Opening hours during theatre holidays
During theatre holidays the ticket pre-sale py phone is available between July 26, and August 26, 2018 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. The box office is closed.

Between August 27, and September 9, 2018 the box office and the ticket pre-sale by phone are available on Monday, Tuiesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m.

Online bookings are possible at any time.
Pre-Sale beginnings

Online tickets
Once ticket pre-sales begin, you can book your tickets directly from the performance schedule. We reserve the right to require different rules for online sales. Before the start of the pre-sale period, ticket orders will be accepted through the online ordering form (processing is handled within the same framework as written pre-sales).

print@home – print your tickets by yourself!
Once ticket pre-sales begin, print@home tickets can be directly booked online. Personalization is needed (name, date of birth) before printing. Please notice that the number of tickets can be limited per customer.
Ticket Pre-sales in Writing
Written orders (by letter, fax, email and online ordering form) are accepted once the schedule is published and are processed once regular ticket pre-sales begin. Therefore, order early and provide possible alternatives (dates, seating groups). Binding orders via SEPA direct debit are processed two weeks before ticket pre-sales begin and are sent for a service fee of 1,50 €. If ticket orders cannot be provided we will inform you by mail. Depending on the availability of tickets written orders without SEPA direct debit can be accounted followed by a notice in writing including the time of payment.

Evening Box Office
The evening box offices in the performance venues open one hour prior to the start of each performance. Tickets can only be purchased at the evening box office for that evening’s performance.
Ordering Tickets
We will gladly send you tickets that have been paid, for a service fee of 1,50 €, or hold them at the evening box office. We cannot accept any responsibility for the shipment of your tickets. Print@home tickets will be sent via E-Mail for free. Different rules apply for group orders.

When receiving your tickets, please immediately check the date, quantity and price of the tickets. Complaints made at a later time cannot be recognised. For payment with a telephone or written order and for online sales, please issue us a SEPA direct debit or authorise payment via credit card at our box office.

Tickets cannot be returned or exchanged.

Casting changes as well as situations beyond our control (traffic situation, illness, strike, weather, etc.) likewise do not constitute a right to exchange or return. Refunds cannot be offered for unused tickets. Staatstheater Stuttgart reserves the right to take legal action in the event of ticket reselling at higher prices.

Children up to 14 years of age accompanied by adults receive a discount of 50% in certain price groups.

School and college students, as well as individuals in a Voluntary Year of Social Service or Federal Volunteer Service (up to 30 years of age) receive tickets at a discounted price:
10 € for the Opernhaus
7 € for the Schauspielhaus and all other performance venues

Discounts may not be valid for premieres, guest performances, special events, as well as online sales.

All discounts only apply with appropriate official ID.
At uni@staatstheater, students can book discount tickets online. To do so, free registration on the Internet with proof of enrollment is required. Up to two tickets can be booked for each performance, as long as the supply lasts. When attending the performance, a valid official ID (students up to 30 years of age) is to be shown at the door for each discount ticket. In addition, the above discount conditions are also valid. Furthermore, uni@staatstheater grants access to special promotions such as rehearsal visits, parties and special allotments.

For a one-time cost of 75 €, you’ll receive a 50% discount for an entire year for all price groups and Schauspiel performance venues. With the Schauspielcard+ for 110 €, you can purchase up to two discount tickets per performance.
Your advantage: Schauspielcard holders can acquire tickets for repertoire performances at the box office as well as through the telephone service a full day before the start of pre-sales. To help you plan, you will receive a free copy of the Monthly Performance Schedule in the mail.
You can also use the Schauspielcard discount to order tickets for a performance on the Internet once regular pre-sales have begun.

The Schauspielcard and Schauspielcard+ are linked to one individual. With the Schauspielcard+, any companion can be chosen. Premieres, guest performances and special events as well as seats in price group 5 are excluded from the discount. The discount ticket is only valid in conjunction with the Schauspielcard. This is to be shown when attending the performance.
Changes of performances and seats
If changes of performances, dates or seats are necessary due to artistic, technical or dispositional reasons we seek to inform you in time. These changes do not justify ticket returns. If performances are cancelled due to acts of nature beyond control, operative errors, strike, necessary structural measures, fire, power blackout, illness of performers etc. we cannot pay damages. Change of cast do not justify exchange or returns.
Free travel to the theatre
On the performance date, tickets and print@home tickets authorise the use of the means of transport of the VVS (2. class) three hours before the performance and after the performance. The tickets are not alienable.
